#Quale sistema operativo usare?
Alcune eccezioni

Con 3 o piu' schede grafiche, si consiglia di utilizzare VISTA o SEVEN per via dei driver e del rilevamento di quest'ultimi.

In caso utilizziamo oltre 2 VGA , è meglio utilizzare Windows Vista 32 bit nel 3dMark06 ( coccus80 )

Per il 3dmark05 in qualunque modo e il numero delle vga a disposizione che si vuole usufruire si utilizza VISTA ULTIMATE 32BIT, a parte alcune eccezioni e alcuni modeli di vga datate si preferisce e rende di piu in xp ( coccus80 )

Acquamark vuole il sistema operativo in base al modello di vga: Se sono schede video poco recenti, in preferenza si utilizza xp, diversamente con vga di ultime generazioni (dopo il 2010) si utilizza SEVEN 32 BIT (il 64 bit se funziona a dovere è anche meglio per certi versi, il problema è che piu delle volte non va a dovere, anche se hanno rilasciato dell patch apposite). 3dmark03 è un incognita perchè la maggior parte degli utenti utilizzano XP, però alcuni result sono migliori in Seven anche se quest'ultimi sono in minoranza. (coccus80)

3. Eliminiamo ora tutto ciò che può appesantire la grafica quindi ci portiamo su:
Start --> Computer --> Tasto Destro --> Proprietà --> Impostazioni di sistema avanzate ( Windows Seven )
Start --> Computer --> Tasto Destro --> Proprietà ( Winodws XP/ Vista )

Apparirà una schermata identica a questa sotto




Clicchiamo su "Impostazioni" nella scheda prestazioni

Ed apparirà una schermata come questa:



Selezioniamo ora "regola in modo da ottenere le prestazioni migliori" ( otterremo il "Classic Style" di windows )

Questo passaggio RISPARMIERA' risorse al sistema e quindi si alleggerirà anche parte della memoria grafica della scheda video.

With this guide we want help people to get better benchmarks.
Getting this way better result in benchmark score.
It's better having a disk only for benckmarks.
One disk or at least a partition.
We need to be free from background services or graphic effects who uses graphic memory.
You could use a small disk ( You need less than 40 gb for OS and benchmark programs.)
You should use this disk only for benchmarking.
Well... Let's start choosing Operative system to install.


#What Operative System could we use ?

Almost Always Win XP is the best OS to use SuperPi, 3dMark01 and 3Dmark06.
We really prefer to use Win Vista/Seven for 3DMark Vantage, PCMark 05/Vantage, 3dmark 11 & Unigine Heaven.
We prefer install the Operative Systems in different Partitions or different disks.


#Some Exceptions

With 3 or more graphic cards in SLI or Crossfire, You'd better to use windows Vista/Seven for driver detenction (coccus80)

With more than 2 Vga With 3d Mark 06 is better to use Win Vista 32bit (coccus80)

3dMark05 wants anyway Win Seven 32bit ultimate Except some olt VGA who wants winXP (coccus80)

Aquamark needs the operative system by VGA model : If VGA are news ( afrer 2010 ) it probably runs better with Vista 32bit , If they're old ( before 2010 ) Try to use XP (coccus80)


#Let's Start !

After you install the OS and The softwares you have to use,
you can begin the generic optimization.

Let's go on Start --> Run . Write " msconfig " Then press Enter.
We Can see a window Like the next , then select "services" and uncheck services who are unuseful for benchmark.
We show you some of them under the screenshot.








-Client DHCP
-Client DNS
-Fax
-Network Services
-Server
-Windows Defender
-Windows Firewall
-Windows Media center
-Windows Search
-Windows Update
-Workstation



2. There are also other services you can uncheck, but you must be sure of what you do.
Repeat this process also to "startup" .
This way the job is easier and not risk.
You have to uncheck not much things.
Catalyst for example.



3. Let's disable what could steal graphic performances. Let's go now on :
Start --> Computer --> right button --> Proprieties --> Advancedsystem settings ( Win7 )
Start --> Computer --> right button --> Proprieties ( Win XP/Vista )

We will see a screen like this.




Click on "settings" in "performance" tab

You will see this.




check now " set by better performance" ( this way we have " windows classic style" )



This step will SAVE system resources that will be used for benchmark.

Let's go ! We Want see your results " before " and " after "

Ottimo lavoro Denis, ti scrivo due appunti per l'aggiornamento di alcune cose:

Per il benchmark 3dmark06 sino a due vga è possibile utilizzare Windows Xp, a oggi si consiglia la versione Service Pack 3. Sempre per il suddetto bench quando si opta dalle 3 vga in poi si utilizza OS VISTA o SEVEN.
Per il 3dmark05 in qualunque modo e il numero delle vga a disposizione che si vuole usufruire si utilizza VISTA ULTIMATE 32BIT, a parte alcune eccezioni e alcuni modeli di vga datate si preferisce e rende di piu in xp.

Piccolo consiglio, visto che chi si avvicina ad HWbot in genere ha problemi con gli screen da salvare, vederte se riuscite a fare una piccoa guida con gli screen da fare per ogni bench, elenco delle cose richieste e screen di esempio.
