[Help] Distorted sound on Realtek ALC1220 after Windows update

Messaggio da lucaberian »

Hey everyone,
After a recent Windows 11 update, my onboard Realtek ALC1220 sound started distorting randomly, especially at high volume or when switching outputs.
I’ve already reinstalled drivers and checked enhancements, but no luck. :blink1:Tunnel Rush Game
Has anyone else experienced this or found a stable driver version?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I’ve faced a similar issue after a recent Windows 11 update — it seems some newer Realtek drivers don’t play well with the latest Windows audio stack. What helped me was rolling back to an older version of the Realtek HD Audio driver (e.g., 6.0.9079.1) and disabling “Audio Enhancements” in both the Realtek Console and Windows Sound settings. You can also try installing the driver directly from your motherboard manufacturer’s support page instead of Windows Update. That usually stabilizes the output.
